Katherine Mansfield was born in
Wellington, New Zealand, into a middle-class colonial family. She
moved to England to finish her education and married John
Middleton Murry, a famous writer on literary topics. She died in
France and although her life was short, she soon became well known,
both in Britain and on the rest of Europe. Her special qualities
are her tender humanity, her clarity, her wit, and her courteous
gaiety. |
